"You enjoyed that way too much, little sister," Max accused with a snicker, reaching back with one hand to poke Jondy in the ribs as they cleared the sector point, "You know he's gonna go home and whack-off picturing us doing nasty things to each other, right?"
Jondy laughed, tossing her hair back a bit. "Hey, I'm just using my test-tube given gifts to my advantage. Is that a crime?"
She poked Max back. "And I just said we danced together, you're the one who's mind leapt to doing nasty, nasty things."
"You obviously haven't been to any strip clubs lately," Max laughed, shaking her head, "'Cause if you had, you'd know that when strippers dance it usually is nasty, especially when they dance in pairs."
"Anyway, it did the trick," Max smirked, turning a corner, "He was too busy having perverted little fantasies to remember to check our necks."
"Don't ever doubt that I know what I'm doing," Jondy said, smirking right back at her big sister. "How do you think I get people to tell me things?"
She raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Didn't know you were into that sorta thing, Maxie." She poked Max again, grinning.
"I'm not!" Max protested with a laugh, swatting at the finger Jondy poked in her ribs, "I hadda go undercover as a stripper to rescue a mermaid from a fishtank."
"It's a long story," She added, realizing that lack of context had turned her explanation into a bizarre non-sequitur.
Pulling over to the curb, she cut the engine and got off the bike, retrieving the stuff she'd gotten from the convenience store from the compartment.
Opening the bottle of pills, she shook a few into her hand and then ripping open the deli package, pulled a face as she cut slits in the sausages and stuffed the pills inside. "That oughta do it."
Heading to the chain link fence, she gave it a shake, a Doberman appearing a moment later and letting out a menacing growl.
"Hey boy, brought you a snack," She tossed the links over the fence, watching the dog eating them for a moment before turning to Jondy, "I give him about five minutes till he's down for the count."
"Sure, sure. Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. I won't tell Logan about your love for strip clubs. Though if you want my opinion, I think you should tell him, he'd probably think it was hot," Jondy said, grinning again and poking Max one more time.
She followed Max over to the chain link fence and watched as she drugged the guard dog, then nodded to the fence. "Shall we, then?"
Max watched the Doberman lie down, putting his chin on his paws to gaze up at her pleadingly, his tail thumping on the ground. Clearly, the supposedly fierce guard dog was hoping she'd give him another snack.
"Let's get you some wheels," She flashed a grin at her sister, crouching low then springing up to leap the fence.
"Sit," Max commanded the guard dog, who stood on wobbly feet when she landed. It sat, and she tossed the rest of the links to him, "Stay."
"There's probably a night watchman lurkin' around here somewhere," She cautioned her sister quietly, weaving her way between the impounded cars, heading toward the section where they kept the motorcycles.
"See anything you like?" Max asked, her gaze traveling over the thirty or so bikes parked in the lot.
Jondy moved ahead of Max, looking closer at some of the bikes. There were a few beautiful ones, but she wasn't sure which ones would run the best based on how pretty they were (and there were some very pretty ones).
She frowned, biting her lower lip before turning back to Max. "Is it luck of the draw, finding out how well one of these will run? Or is there some way you can tell without having to turn it on?"
"I can look 'em over and see what kinda condition they're basically in, but we won't know for sure if one works till we start it up."
"Most of 'em probably work just fine though - that's the scam, the cops pull you over, and if they want your wheels, they do something minor to it so they can impound it - they smashed my headlight so they could get mine off me," Max rolled her eyes in disgust.
"Anyway, so long as it runs outta here it'll be fine - I can fix most anything. Pick one out, I'll look it over, and if it looks good, we can grab the keys."
Jondy nodded, then set to work picking her bike out. She was being deliberately choosy, perhaps not the best idea when the guard dog could potentially wake up or a security guard could make his rounds. But she didn't want to leave and not be happy with the bike that she chose.
Finally, she spotted one that she really liked. "Ooh, what about this one?" she said, moving over to it and gesturing for Max to come and take a look at the beautiful red motorcycle she had her eye on.
"Yamaha YZF-R1. Nice choice, these babies have a solid rep," Running her hand over the shining red body of the bike
, Max pulled a penlight from her pocket and crouched down to inspect the condition of the engine, making sure to check the fuel line and the brakes.
"Apart from the left side mirror, which is easy fixed, looks to be in pretty sweet condition - well taken care of," she said after a moment, "I bet her previous owner loved her a lot. Oh well, their loss is your gain. Let's go find the keys..."
Jondy grinned, running her hand over it briefly before nodding at Max. She looked around briefly, then nodded to the building nearby. "Where do we sneak in?"
"Last time, I got in through a window," Keeping to the shadows, Max edged toward the building, careful to step lightly on the gravel.
Peering into the building through the window, Max saw the night watchman, sitting back with his feet up, watching an infomercial on the TV.
Crouching down again, Max turned to her sister, leaning forward to whisper, "Looks like we're gonna need a distraction..."
Jondy crouched, balancing her weight with one hand in front of her and nodded, looking to the window and leaning forward to listen to her. "What did you have in mind?"
"Something to get him outta the office and away from the bikes. A few loud noises here and there oughta do it..." Max glanced around, then nodded toward a short length of steel pipe, "Think you can handle that while I go in after the keys?"
