"Oh I'm sure we'll be great friends," Alec smiled at Eden sarcastically.
So worried you hid and put people on guard in the middle of a war. Oh yeah, best friends.
"Okay good. Call Jondy if you need to. I'm going to get mine done while you two catch up okay?" Alec smiled, "Nice to meet you Eden. A phone wouldn't hurt next time but whatever. Lex I'll talk to you later."
"Yeah I'll cya." Her tone was tight, stressed, sad.
Eden watched him go. "Al, why? If you're with this guy then he needs to know, before you sink like you always do, around now...I know why, but he won't, and if he is your guy, then he needs to know...If things get like they have before..."
"They won't Ed, here it's not just a risk to me."
Lex was interrupted by the trilling of her 'phone and she answered it, and listened to what Libra had to say.
She didn't even need to speak when she hung up.
Eden smiled "Go, catch up with your man while I catch up with mine, we'll all still be here in the morning..if you play it safe."
Lex looked gratefully at her friend and turned to follow Alec.
Alec had already been halfway down the street, but Lex's call stopped him.
If this is more about laying off Eden I so don't want to hear it, Alec thought.
However he turned and waited for her to come up to, stepping forward to meet her as she drew near.
"What is it? If it's a lecture about how nice I ought to be to your friends it can wait. I want to get this taken care of while my guy is still open," Alec said, his eyebrows raised expectantly.
Lex smiled gently at him.
"You left for me?" She asked him softly. "Everything that was going on and you left to see me?"
She didn't wait for an answer, just took his face in her hands and, kissed him, she might not have been able to tell him yet, but she hoped he knew.
She kissed him again. "Missed you, Slick."
Alec kissed her back, relieved. He'd expected a verbal lashing. He wasn't as good as saying how he felt as much as showing it, so he kissed her again, a bit more passionately.
Breaking off he smiled that half smile that was nearly a trademark of his. "If you didn't notice I did too. Some. A little," He joked.
"Only a little huh?" Lex teased him, leaning away for a second. "You disappear off to do battle with the National Guard, and only miss me a little? It means a lot...that you came."
She kissed him again, slowly, allowing her worry about the current situation, to drain away. He was here and for now at least, he was safe and he was hers.
She pulled away from him again and ran her knuckle over his cheek.
"Now, what was this about the codes?"
"I was saying mine can wait," Alec breathed. This was a good feeling, one he wasn't used to and couldn't control, so it scared him...but he never wanted it to end.
He did however crack an eye open at her comment, then looked at her with scrutiny.
"Okay who narced?" He asked playfully.
Lex chuckled "Not telling. The con artist is never a narc! And the codes need dealing with, yes?" Her tone was businesslike, but she had yet to let him go.
The wheels in Alec's mind eliminated all possible suspects until he reached one.
"Did Libra say what she wanted or do I have to guess?" He grinned knowing he was right.
"And yes they do, but if I head back to TC I can deal with it tomorrow. You however are out here too much not to."
Lex quirked a quick smile.
"We have a particular way of dealing with distinguishing marks I'll have my girl fix it when I get home, a place where if you're gonna listen to Libra, I go alone. She wanted to know why you switched off your 'phone, and I want to know what's going on with you?"
"I had something important to deal with first. Libra can wait...or could. Maybe I should go, see what's up. You sure you've got that? Max knows a place where we can get that taken care of fast?" Alec asked, not thrilled with the idea of home remedies.
"No makeup. Laser it off. They can tell if you use makeup, even concrete based. Got it?" He tilted his head to the side playfully.
He really did have to see what Libra wanted though, as reluctant as he was to go.
She kissed him, not completely happy with the idea of him leaving, but knowing he had a job to do. She flinched at the thought of the lazer but shrugged quickly and snapped him a quick salute, grinning.
"Sir, yes, sir. I'll call Max."
She turned as if to leave, but couldn't quite bring herself to go yet, she spoke, not turning to look at him, because sh knew he would see she was afraid for him.
"Be safe Slick, and call me yeah? And if Libra wants me dead again because of this I'm gonna kill you."
He laughed and kissed her before she could turn, and then let her go, albeit regretfully.
"She'll want me more dead than you, so don't worry about it. She can't kill you. Who'd be a bridesmaid?"
He laughed again and started toward TC.
